Who

 

As a young lad, Joe bounced around extensively living the life of an Army Brat. His homes included Virginia, Kansas, New York and Germany. However, the bulk of his quirkiness can be attributed to his Maine roots. He proudly identifies himself as a Mainer, shamelessly assuming all connotations associated with the tag.

 

In the academic realm he is a student at American’s School of Communication. He is a Communication Studies major with a theoretical emphasis on the influence of media and society. He also studied for a semester at the Universidad Diego Portales located in the heart of Santiago, Chile. While in South America he sharpened his Spanish speaking skills, raggaetone dance moves and learned the art of being a latin lover. His backpacking adventures included trekking to Easter Island, Patagonia, Argentina, the Atacama Desert and the beaches of Valparaiso.

 

Prior to joining Long Story Short, Joe’s experience included working at the Maine Red Claws minor league basketball team, English Opens Doors tutoring program in Chile, the National Zoo and the American University Rec Department. However, the job that will always be closest to his heart was lugging garbage and dirty towels at his family’s beachfront hotel business in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

 

In his spare time, he plays on American University’s club ultimate frisbee team, Stall 11. Additionally, he is a certified open water scuba diver, motorcycle motorist and clutch beer pong teammate. However, he never has free time because he thoroughly enjoys spending each and everyday with the Long Story Short clan.
