Jessica Stuart
Jessica is an award winning producer and consultant, developing her expertise in short form content through her experiences at NBC, The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and ABC News. Her video work and live productions have been seen around the globe.
She launched her career in 1996 at NBC Network News in the Washington Bureau. After a brief time at the desk, she went to work for The Today Show, first as a researcher, then as an associate producer in Washington. After 4 years of covering politics and breaking news for Today, the show executives created a position for Jessica in the Chicago Bureau where she acted as a writer, booker, and field producer, traveling all over the United States and abroad to cover breaking news, celebrity, sports and feature stories.
In 2002, Jessica went to work for The Oprah Winfrey Show. She developed, booked, wrote, and post produced one hour shows from conception to completion. Promoted 3 times in 4 years, she finished her tenure as a Washington, DC based field producer.
In 2006, she returned to Washington, DC, and spent the summer as a consulting producer traveling overseas for DATA (Debt Aids Trade Africa) and for The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Jessica then accepted a position with ABC Network News, and became responsible for overseeing and managing the booking system across show platforms in the Washington Bureau.
Jessica’s in depth experience honed her ability to identify and tell stories. She developed superior skill in every aspect of content creation, intention and messaging. Whether it’s creating a tangible experience for every member of a live audience, or affecting one person’s interaction with a video on the web, she and her team adapt the skills to the specific need.
Jessica has prepped and interviewed thousands of individuals, from every living US President, international heads of state, celebrities, citizens appearing in front of an audience for the first time, and many others all over the world. She has written a variety of content styles for audiences ranging from hundreds to millions.
Her work has taken her throughout the United States and a variety of countries including Ghana, Brazil, Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Thailand, Cote D’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Malawi, the UK, and Canada.
In September 2008, Jessica created Long Story Short Media, an independent creative consulting and producing firm, specializing in short form, multi-use content.
Jessica’s short form event projects earned Long Story Short Media an Emmy Nomination, a Webby Award and a People's Choice Webby, 3 Golden Cine Awards, 4 Silver Telly Awards, 4 Bronze Telly Awards, a Platinum MarCom Award and an AEGIS Film and Video Production Award. Additionally, her work with The Gates Foundation Living Proof Project earned 2 Webby nominations.
She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, David, their son Alexander, and their rescue dog, Riley Martin.
